Bojeun Wedding

Wow guys! It’s been quite a while since I have written a blog post. Shame on me! When I first arrived at the Bojeun Wedding as a second shooter with Dani Strickler Photography, I admit I felt like a country girl in the big city! This is only the second wedding that I have been a second shooter at, but with Danielle by my side I wasn’t really concerned. She’s a pro!  Mark and Melissa were extremely welcoming in us sharing and shooting their special day. We got an entire hour to shoot with just the two of them and every minute was worth it. They opted not to do a first look, so it was really fantastic that we got to spend so much time with them. They were willing to try anything we asked of them, and they even had some of their own creative ideas. The setting was spectacular and with the sun about to set, it made for some really interesting reflections in the glass of the building.  I rented a 70-200mm lens from Lens Rentals for the ceremony, which I am sincerely glad I did. Lens Rentals and other companies like it are a great option if you are saving for some new equipment, and you just don’t have the funds yet. It’s also a great way to try out the equipment before you purchase it yourself. I found that in renting the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L, I would rather save a little bit longer and purchase the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II. The lens that I rented did not have the Image Stabilization, and I noticed that some of my photographs from the ceremony were blurry because of camera shake. Although I would like to think that I have the arm muscles of Hercules, sadly I don’t posses God like strength, and definitely needed that Image Stabilization for shooting indoors. Now, if you are mainly going to shoot outside or carry a tripod around, I don’t see the point in spending the extra money. You will be fine with the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L, however, if you are going to be shooting indoors or in areas with limited light, I think the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II is much better suited for the job. Looks like I will be saving for a little while longer! I hope that you enjoy the Bojeun Wedding by looking through these images as much as I did attending!
