Kayla | Senior

We have truly had a beautiful start to Fall this year, really it hasn’t even felt like Fall up until these past few days. I met up with Kayla a couple of weeks ago to shoot her Senior portraits and the weather held out until five minutes after we were done and it started to rain! Perfect timing. I’m absolutely in love with how these images turned out, but they also make me a little sad too. I used to babysit for Kayla and her brother back when I was in high school and they were in elementary school. Over the summer we played in the sprinkler, made brownies, and painted our nails. It is truly hard to believe how fast time has flown by. I remember being high school age and thinking that time took forever to pass. How quickly your perceptions on that change as you get older.

Right at the beginning of summer, Kayla sent me a message about taking her Senior portraits. It was actually kind of amazing because I was going to talk to her about being a Senior Representative for me at Arcadia. If you love these pictures as much as I do, be sure to ask her about a discount you can receive when you mention her name at booking. Since we both grew up in Modest Town, we decided to shoot around that area since it was home. We went down to the landing and shot the dock photos and used the nearby cornfield and hay bales. We went for simplicity and I’m so glad that we let nature provide the perfect backdrop. I even broke out a special tool a friend had given me for Christmas to make a really awesome effect on some of the last images. Keep on scrolling to see!

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Kayla and wish her the best of luck in everything she does. Have a wonderful Saturday friends!

This was an area off the road on the way to the docks that I spotted when we came in. I love that my clients trust me, even when I tell them to go stand in the weeds!

Kayla’s boyfriend Ray kept us both laughing during the session!

Absolutely magical. Thanks Danielle!
